Merry Christmas!

Dear Family,

Merry Christmas! It seems like I just wrote last year’s Family letter, last month. We are so excited for the holidays! We have had so much fun preparing for the celebration of Christ’s birth. Our children have been such a blessing to us and it has been so great teaching them and watching their excitement about Christmas.

Kayson is growing up so fast. He will be 4 in January and is in his second year of pre-school. He is loving it. I love having him come home and tell me all about the things he has learned. Kayson has learned how to spell is first name and is so proud of himself. He also has learned how to pray on his own. We love to hear everything that he talks to Heavenly Father about. He has become a big, little helper. He helps me out with taking care of his sisters. He is a wonderful big brother. Kayson also will be starting Sunbeams in January. Devin and I are a little nervous about the transition since he has had a hard time with Devin or myself leaving him in nursery. Although, I think we will be surprised and he will be just fine. We are also hoping this is the year that he will be starting sports, starting with t-ball in the summer. He is so excited about it.

Kenadi is our “little mommy.” She loves taking care of her baby dolls and her little sister. She has such a sweet spirit. Kenadi turned 2 in July and has changed so much in the past year. She is talking nonstop and is a huge goofball! She loves to make us laugh. She is also our teeny tiny girl. She is very small and petite. Kenadi is learning her colors right now and learning about the “big girl potty.” She is doing very well with both. She loves for us to read her stories and has her Great-Grandma read her a book every night, which Kenadi and Great-Grandma look forward to every night. We also gave Kenadi her first haircut this year which I was sad about but looks very cute! She loves bows, jewelry, purses, shoes and anything girly.

Kambree is our baby, our big baby. She is almost 1 1/2 and still loves to be swaddled. She is so sweet. Kambree has been a huge blessing in our lives. She makes us laugh every day. She has learned to crawl and walk in the past year. Kambree has only been walking for about a month but once she learned she just took off. She was trying to run before she could walk. She likes trying to be big like her brother and sister. She already thinks she’s the boss of the other two kids and lets them know it. Kambree is my baby that stands out a little in her looks. She has brown hair and hazel eyes while the other two have blonde hair and blue eyes. Although, there is no mistaking that she belongs to our family. She looks just like her older sister. Kambree has also learned one word, “Hi!”

Devin has just finished the transition course from Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nursing. He graduated from the LPN program in May and received his license in July. Devin will be starting the RN program in January. While he has been in the transition course he has been working as a substitute teacher at the school in Hansen. He’s even substituted in Kayson’s pre-school class, which Kayson did not enjoy. I asked Kayson if he enjoyed having daddy teach and he said,”No! Daddy boring.” It made everybody laugh. Devin has been enjoying his little break between programs but is really anxious to get back going again.

I have still been doing the mom thing. I am really enjoying my kids and loving my husband. I have been doing a lot of crafts and things for the holidays that has kept me busy! The holidays are always a busy time for our family. We hope you all enjoy the holiday season and know that we love you and wish you all the best! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Love, Devin, Nikki,

Kayson, Kenadi and Kambree

well it's about time you posted!!! We don't do a Christmas letter, but maybe we should, hmmm... maybe I'll start that this year, or maybe next depending on if I get to it before the baby comes. I wish I could be there at Kayson's program tomorrow!! You should record it so we can watch it when you come! I love all your family and can't wait to see you guys on saturday, hopefully my baby will be here by then!

Bath Time

Bath Time
Our kids LOVE bubble baths. They both know that right after dinner is bath time. There was one night when Kayson had dinner with his cousins and they had to bring him home right when he was finished because he told them it was time for his bubble bath.

Getting ready for church

Getting ready for church
Our little beauty. Kenadi is so pretty all dolled up but I'm afraid she's gonna be our little tom boy. She can keep right up with her brother and all her boy cousins and loves to wrestle Daddy and Kayson.

Gone Fishin'

Gone Fishin'
We were so excited to go to IF and go fishing. We packed a picnic with mom, dad, Becci, Josh, and BraeLynn. It was freezing. We ended up cuddled up under a shed. Devin, Kayson, and Josh tried to fish but nobody lasted long. Instead we sat under blankets and fed each other cheese and crackers.

BROWNIES

BROWNIES
We helped grandma and aunt Alicia make brownies. The kids liked the batter better then the brownies.
